Originally from Winthrop, MA, Jane Campedelli started singing at the age of 5 years old in local talent shows and community events. Through high school she and a few classmates put together a 50's-style group, called the "Meridians". Continuing to pursue her singing career while holding down her day job at American Airlines at Logan Airport, Jane was a well-known band vocalist throughout Greater Boston and New England for over 20 years appearing at some of the areas most popular nightclubs.
Jane met the East Bay City Jazz Band, a group of young professionals playing infectious Dixieland music and she was hooked and so was the band with Jane's Red Hot Mama style and stage presence. "It was love at first sound" for Jane and the band!
She became the East Bay City's permanent vocalist and recorded her first CD, Perfectly Clear with the band. Their home base was the Sticky Wicket Pub in Hopkinton, MA for a number of years. Jane continued performing with several popular Trad Jazz groups... The Steamboat Stompers, The Heritage Jazz Band and Larry Cooper's Big Band and was the "go-to" vocalist for many other bands and combos in the greater Boston area appearing at jazz festivals throughout the country.
Jubilee Jazz Band is Jane's "Musical Dream Team". After many years of sharing the stage with all of these musicians in one group or another, she thought, "What if all these fabulous musicians were all on the same stage all at the same time all in the same band???" That's exactly what happened when Jubilee Jazz Band was invited to perform at the 2012 Suncoast Jazz Classic. The band was an instant success and "rocked" the house with their rousing renditions of the great old dixieland tunes. A few blues, ballads, swing and amazing solos by every musician in the group, Jubilee played to a SRO crowd every set! The "Musical Dream Team" has become a reality and we're ready to knock 'em dead at the 2013 Suncoast Jazz Classic!
Life is good!
